I have a reputation for being stronger than the average rock climber.

Some examples:
- In an old German video starring Wolfgang Gullich, I was filmed doing a one-finger pullup with 50 pounds in the other hand.
- I've bench pressed 240 pounds, leg pressed 845 (for two reps), and done (so called "no-no-no") squats (the way we used to do them - no belts, no wraps, no lift suits) with 260 for five reps at a body weight of about 130.
In case you were wondering: These lifts have all been done within the last year (it's now 2004) at age 52.
- I once did 100 pullups without releasing the bar. Another time, Rob Oravetz & I did 1000 pullups in a day. I can also do five pullups or so with an extra 100 pounds.
- I have deadlifted triple body weight.
You can become this strong, too!
I am not naturally strong. I got strong the old fashioned way, the most efficient way: Heavy, systematic weight lifting. If you are just starting to work out or if you have been training for years & need to intensify your workout, I can help. Visit me in the Weight Room at Berkeley Ironworks, 800 Potter St., Berkeley, CA 94710, every Tuesday night between 6:00 and 10:00 or contact me.
Want to find out how much you can bench or how many pulldowns you can do with half your body weight? Here's a little JavaScript that can help out.
